I recently uninstalled my CybeLink PowerDVD 13 software and the right click context menu is not going away. My friend who is a developer and PC genius couldn't even figure it out. He went into the registry and CCleaner and still couldn't figure it out. I want to know if you Seven Forum geniuses know how to fix this.

It does this for pictures too, which doesn't make any sense.

Colin have you tried a sfc and chkdsk (only not the chkdsk if you have an SSD)

try these mate in this order if you have tried some of it then I am sorry but am just stating a process of elimination.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

download from bleeping computer

delete any rubbish you find.

If these do nothing then you may have to reinstall that software

One other thing is I and many others do not like AVG but the choice is yours of course but personally I would be dumping it.

Plenty of choice here if this is what you would rather do.

Try ShellMenuView and remove any Cyberlink related context menu items

ShellMenuView - Disable/enable context menu items of Explorer

If problem persists, use ShellExView to see if a Cyberlink context handler is causing this behavior

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Lastly, if still no help, uninstall CybeLink PowerDVD 13 using the free Revo Uninstaller, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can always try a reinstall as this seems like an aberration.

Yep should have thought about that a bit more Bear probably the last is the best suggestion.

I reinstalled and then removed it with Revo Uninstaller "ADVANCED" mode. The problem is STILL here, there were no entries on the ShellView. I am completely lost here.

I did click NO, and there is nothing in RegEdit with the name CyberLink. I did a complete search, and I also did an ADVANCED uninstall :/

Some of those things with CMD you posted earlier make me nervous, I don't want to f**k up my computer.

There is nothing under these:

4PflF.png

I can't find a thing, I will perform a DSKCHK and will report back when it's done.

Your awesome for reading this.
Yes I would say so. I would also remove the MS Groove sync just to be sure. It may be why cyber stays after removal. What is in the top two when you click them? And I think Andrew in his post above is spot on.

Here is my current HKCR Shellex ContextMenuHandlers:

4PfOF.png

Those top two are pin to taskbar and pin to start menu, I have the exact same ones.

If you want to test it just right click on them and export to save them.

Then you can delete them, restart (If you want), and check it by right clicking a program.

By clicking on them in your saved location, you can merge them back into the registry.
