:geek: Was getting a very weak wireless signal from the router that is 2 rooms and a hallway away (40 ft.)... It was almost like dial-up used to be...
Anyway, a friend of mine suggested getting Powerline Network Adapters,
HowStuffWorks "How Power-line Networking Works"

I spent the money for the kit, ($99 at Office Depot), and installed yesterday afternoon. Getting a great signal now. If you can't or prefer not to run ethernet cable, this is the next best thing...
:D

There's a Trendnet pair on sale for cheap today from newegg. I wonder if I should give that a try.

I have observed that in my house, which is high on a hill and so I've protected virtually every electronic device we own with a UPS and/or surge protector, doesn't accommodate powerline devices at all. The surge protectors see powerline signals as noise, and want to shunt them to ground. So lousy (or no) signal strength.

Just something to be aware of i.e. with these devices "YMMV".
