ahlow I just did reinstall of Windows 7 ultimate x64 with SP1. win update d/l some updates but it keeps go around and around. I ran simplix update but it said some Prerequisite files not present it loaded KB3125574 then stopped. Are these the ones it needs KB3020369 & KB3172605 & KB3125574. to complete install ? I turned win update to never check for updates. I'm trying to do this offline. I downloaded KB3020369 4 parts and KB3172605 4 parts to add manually is there any tools I need to install manually ? All you should need is Windows 7 Service Pack 1 before you try to run Simplix UpdatePack. It even says that on the website for it.

Just pick either the 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) Service Pack 1 depending on whether Windows 7 is 32-bit or 64-bit.

MisterEd is correct.
After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit, all you need to do is run the April 2025 version of Simplix UpdatePack7R2.
There's no need to install "pre-requisite" updates first.
I've done it several times.

I'm not a hardware expert, but maybe the dinosaur-era Toshiba laptop you're using is part of the problem?

In your original comments, you said you installed Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit.
In your last comments, you said you are going to try to install SP1.
If what you actually did was install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit without SP1 as part of it, that is the problem.
SP1 needs to be installed first before you can use the Simplex update pack.

It looks like some people have had difficulty with the slipstreamed driver package turning off their USB 2 ports.

Simplix Pack to update Live Win7 System/ Integrate hotfixes into Win7 distribution | Page 254 | My Digital Life Forums

I gather from browsing the internet that there's not a selectable version of Simplix? I only need that one secure-boot update, and nothing else.

Seems to be uncertainty on the internet about whether or not bypassESU still works.

Ok, I guess Simplix resolves the problems with the original versions of the updates?

The Simplix changelog for Jan 2020 indicates
  • Added KB4534310-x86-x64 with disabling telemetry and processor verification (replaces KB4530734-x86-x64)

So I guess this means they allow me to have all the updates without breaking my system.

No if only I could find an older version of Simplix without the drivers that people have found to be problematic.

It looks like the only recent USB driver is in the July 2024 changelog, so one would want to try a version of Simplix before July 2024, and after Aug 2022, to get the secure-boot update without the latest problematic Simplix drivers.
