Hi!
I have a hp pavilion g6 i5. This very model has a very common flaw. If some dust gets into the fan it breaks. As u know dust can ruin any laptop fan but its extremely common for the g6. Is there a way from preventing it from breaking in the first place? I have had this laptop for 5 years and the fan broke 3 times. I dont want to waste more money on this old laptop.

Short of replacing the fan with a more robust model, there isn't much you can do. Fans do wear out, and sometimes fans aren't made very well. If you could find a more robust model that fits your laptop (which I doubt that you could), then replace the fan with that one. Otherwise, you're stuck with OEM equipment that might be of substandard quality.

I'm sorry, but that's the hard reality of laptops. You're locked into OEM parts for the most part and you have to suffer with what the manufacturer provides.

Never had a braked laptop fan. What normally happens is that the heat sink gets clogged by dust.
-Install a hardware monitor http://openhardwaremonitor.org/files/openhardwaremonitor-v0.8.0-beta.zip
expand it to C:\Program Files (x86)\HardwareMonitor and execute the OpenHardwareMonitor.exe. Go to options tab
- Start minimized
- Minimize to tray
- Minimize on close
- Run on windows startup
