Printer Job Accounting

Hello,

I am trying to setup my printer at work. It is a Canon iR C5185, and Windows 7 found the driver fine and has installed it.

The problem I now have, is we have to use a printer ID for Print Job Accounting, and I can't find anywhere at all to input this setting. In Windows Vista/XP the window would pop up automatically, where I could input my User ID. Perhaps it is Canon driver specific? I am all out of ideas, and would prefer not to have to dual boot and use XP at work.

Would love to get some help on this.

How did you add the printer, via networked printer or via local printer and creating a new port?

I installed the printer through network printer, it found the IP address of the printer automatically. Previously with vista I had to input this.

Do you think I should try adding the printer local and adding port?

Nah, that is probably the best way to do it - but it is probably using a default driver for the printer. I'd get a Vista driver for that printer and inatll it manually and see if that helps.

ah perfect, i actually tried running the .exe that came with the driver a few days ago but that gave me some issues. so i just went to change the driver with have disk & it now has job accounting. time to test print.. and we are successful. brilliant, now i'm 100% good to go with windows 7 - and happy.
