Wow, this one has me stumped. I have 30 networked PCs that use two Kyocera Printers. The printer in question is a KM-5050 KX, which is set up as a copier and printer, but not a fax machine.

My problem comes when I try and print envelopes from ONE specific PC. They process normally, but print blank. No other PC in the office has this issue. I've checked all the internal settings, including modifying the default styles (Ctrl+Shft+Alt+S), but to no avail.

My next course of action was to address drivers, but since all the drivers and settings are uniform across the networked PCs, that doesn't make sense to me. Has anyone else experienced this problem and know of a solution. Or is there something simple that I've overlooked, (it wouldn't be the first time.) Thanks for your help.

Just one or two points to clarify...

Which operating system is installed on the problem PC - XP or Windows 7?

Are all of the 30 PC's running the same version of Office? (also, which version?)

It's running XP, with Office 2007. That's the standard on most of the PCs in the office, except a couple that run Win7. None of the other PCs, even the ones that have the same model, OS, and settings, seem to have this issue.

Could the template for the envelopes be corrupt? I jumped straight from Office 2000 to Office 2010, so I'm not sure off the top of my head where Office 2007 stashes them, but I'd try checking that out.

What happens when you print as though you're printing an envelope but use a regular 8.5"x11" page instead? Does anything show up on the paper? What I'm getting at is that it might actually be printing, but if the envelope template is messed up it might be printing off to the side of the envelope itself.

Have you tried uninstalling the printer from the computer, restarting, then installing the printer again?

May also be worth checking out the driver - just for the sake of it and to eliminate from the equation.

Solved!! ...ish

So I went ahead and bit the bullet, and downloaded updated printer drivers. It seems to have solved the issue, as now the envelopes print out with actual text. Something is still amiss though. The text sits a little lower and to the left of where the other PCs print it. I'm pretty sure that it has to do with custom setting that my predecessor configured.

I should be able to figure it out, but I was a little surprised that the default was so off center, given the nature of the mailings wizard.

In case anyone is having a similar problem, or anything else related to Kyocera drivers, I highly recommend the following link.

Kyocera KM-5050 KX Driver v.5.1.1405 download for Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008

Although I HATE dirverscollection for all it's confusing ad pages and unnecessary click-throughs. I have to admit that the All-in-on multifunctional Kyocera driver finder program that I downloaded, was super easy to use and did the trick. I'm sure there's a more official download than the one I used, if you know it, please post below.
