Whenever I create a new ss in Excel 2003 complete with lines, I find that when I print it the lines are all quite thick. Is there a way of adjusting the default thickness of the lines to minimum, please? Currently the lines are so thick that make data reading a little difficult or uncomfortable. I can't seem to find anything related in the Excel Help.

NB. This question is not about updating to 2007 or 2010 at all. Thanks in advance.

We need a bit more detail: are you referring to GRIDLINES or to CELL BORDERS?

I am pretty sure that GRIDLINES are not customizable in any version of Excel: they are either visible or hidden, on or off, all or none.

Cell BORDERS can, to some extent, be customized with different border "styles", at least in currently supported versions of Excel (not sure about version 2003).

....or 2013 or 2016...?;)

Have you looked at any of the free, open-source, currently-supported alternatives to MS Office?
Perhaps they might offer the feature you want, if Excel 2003 does not?

Cheers,
