Solved Probably stupid iTunes- any ideas?

using iTunes v10.3.1.55 on a brand new HP with 12 GB Memory and 1 TB hard drive + Win7.

all of a sudden I get a popup--unknown origin--saying iTunes ins using "100% of one CPU."

Um..what?

Never seen this in 5 years of using iTunes. Granted, iTunes for Windows is prone to RAS. (Random Acts of Stupid.) But still.

Latest iTunes is 10.4.0.80. Have you tried that?

That sounds a little fishy to me. I don't recall ever seeing a pop-up complaining about any app using 100% of the CPU.

Nope.

It's a little fake antivirus-esque sounding. When the popup occurs, look in Task Manager to see what it might be. Perhaps it's some preinstalled HP bloatware program??

yeah that's what it looked like, something pre-installed. "100% of 1 CPU used." No spyware on this machine for sure.
Aha. This just came up. a Norton thing.

yeah i went in and entered an exclusion for that program. I think NIS works fab, no complaints.

Now if I can just figure out why I need to hit F5 sometimes to make jpegs i save onto desktop show up................
