Hi

I assume that I have problem with the graphic card.
Whenever I watch youtube in full screen, it slows the computer down dramatically to a stage where I have to just turn it off manually. (normal screen= no problem)
When this happens, basically computer almost freezes.

I also get random freezes with blue screen written something like memory dumping...this juz happens out of nowhere
It is very frustrating. >.<

My spec is:

OS: win 7
CPU:Intel i5
Motherboard: Gigabyte P55A-UD4
Graphics card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5770
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster XL2370

I have enough power supply and all...
Oh and also I have downloaded and installed new version of catalyst thingy..10.5
After this it freezes less though it still freezes..>.<

Does anyone have any solution??

p.s - I have tried to upload CMD? file blue screen file though was not able to do so..damn
got it hand copied

2 things to try.

1st is update motherboard BIOS. Make sure your BIOS is later than F4. BIOS F4 had a fix regarding similar issue with HD5 series cards. Latest BIOS is F11

2nd is update Flash to version 10.1.53.60 RC6

Edit: This Flash issue is a known issue with your motherboard (BIOS F4 or earlier, yours has a BIOS of F3) and the HD5 series. A BIOS update along with the latest Flash usually fixes it.

I'm concerned with your Blue Screen STOP. If it BSOD during the BIOS update, it render the motherboard usless. The Stop error is a Page Fault in a non Paged Area. We need to get your system memory stable before any BIOS update. You didn't mention what system memory you have and how much. You should set the memory settings and timmings manually in the BIOS. Even use slacker timmings and test with Memtest86+v4. Once the memory is passing the test (run for a few hours) then you can do the BIOS update which also helps with memory compatibility issues. After the BIOS update, you can set the memory settings back to the settings as defined by the memory manufacturer.

Thank you for a quick and useful reply :D

I have tried both and for now I'm hoping for the best.

I have downloaded f11 of the bios which is the latest one using Qflash.

If anyone have same problem as I do maybe it won't hurt to try though will let you know how it is going after regular use...maybe 1week later.

* This site is helpful for bios update: BIOS Flashing - A "How To ~ Qflash Guide"

Oh just before the bios update I had the blue screen again..

I will be running memory test to find if any problems could be found. >.<

AGH!

No offense to either of you, but flashing the BIOS on a motherboard or GPU (or anything) can SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR COMPONENTS IF NOT DONE PROPERLY!
This would qualify as a last ditch effort to fix your problem...
Motherboard BIOS is one of those things where if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Better safe than sorry.

Dave, can you upload the DMP file for us to look at? I would bet it is a video driver problem (the DRIVERS, not Catalyst Control Center).

Thank you for your concern :D

Sorry my English isn't so good and might have confused some of you.
BSOD appeared not during the BIOS update, it just happened randomly and it happened before the BIOS update.

I'm aware that BIOS update can cause great harm if done wrongly, so I have read the thread and follow the instruction carefully. ( BIOS Flashing - A "How To ~ Qflash Guide" )

It did go well I believe and just hoping for the best for now...
I was running a memory test (program called 'mem test') and it took forever so I just quited at like 100.6%? I had it on for 5~6 hours.. did'nt have any problem till.

I will upload the DMP file for you to have look :D mind you I have tried to open the file with the word lol I'm such a noob, so the file is in word...I hope this doesnt effect your favour.

Hi guys, just letting you know it is going fine without any problems so far :D
I know its only been couple of days though I'm loving it. I hope my happiness continues :D

*Youtube problem probably fixed by the new version of flash. (I'm using chrome)
*Random freeze stopped as long as 2days now which is a biggg thing for me, cause it happened in daily basis.
I think updating of BIOS did work for me in this case, but only time will tell..
