Hey guys,

A few years ago I bought an Alienware M17X which has two HD Radeon 4870 mounted in crossfire (I know I should have bough a desktop but had to move quite a lot at the time).

My problem is that the only drivers I can use up to now is the last one certified by Alienware dating 2010. There are more recent ones (2013) but everytime I try to update blue screens of death and brutal crashes occur every minute.

As you can imagine, the compatibility problems keep accumulating. Would somebody have some advice as to getting me to use the 2013 drivers ?

Thanks in advance ;-)

Go to AMD Site and search for Legacy Drivers, AMD stopped support for DX 10.1 graphics card in around 2012-2013 or better yet stick with the drivers that came from alienware.

Btw, is this what you are using right now? Product Support | Dell US

Hey, thanks for fast response;

Yes, I am using the latest version provided by Alienware. I had hoped I could update the drivers as some softwares which aren't that hard like Kodi crash my display systematically. Going back to good old XBMC.

Stupid question, let's say I were to replace the video cards on my alienware, how much would a relatively decent/recent replacement cost ?

They will cost a little bit expensive than their desktop counterparts. I'd recommend a Mobility Radeon HD 5870 :)
