There are several ideas abt forcing a driver to install. Just do a search for forcing driver install

What is showing in Device Manager (DM)? I am interested in the 2 items highlighted. To access DM, click the start orb and type Device Manager into the search box and press Enter/Return. Don't worry about the dialogue that pops up informing you that you can't change any settings - we are only interested in what is shown. Expand the categories Display adapters and Monitors.

But Samsung didnt release any drivers for windows 7 :(

Strange that you don't have a monitor tab - I would expect one, even if it is showing just a generic pnp type. In addition, the display adapters tab shows a VGA compatible device instead of the 8400GS which you say you have installed.

Just a thought - do you have in-built graphics as well, and have you plugged the monitor into this by mistake?

And on that thought. Maybe in the BIOS the internal card is selected as first device instead of PCIE ?

Hey i have almost the same problem with the Geforce 8400 GS. im using dual displays both the exact same model and one of them i can't set above 800x600 resolution the other i can. i have updated the drivers and was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the problem. its windows 7 32bit
