Hi,

I got a problem with my external HDD from Memup, it's 1TB disk and I got tons of importante backup into there.

So please all help is appreciated.

What's happening is when I connect the external HDD to USB port and passing some time it appear on My PC but I can't click there, otherwise all will get blocked.

Almost all the time after I remove the USB of external HDD from PC it says I have to format the disk, but how if I already removed?

I tried another PC, cables, all, but no sucess, my primary goal is to backup all data from this HDD and put it into a new, and how can I retrieve all my data from this supposed damaged disk to another?

So the drive is recognized but I can't access.

Short of taking it to a professional recovery firm (no guarantee), all you can do is try some of the recovery programs available.

You say you're using an external drive I assuming it's in a case. Might I suggest you pull it from the case and plug into either a desktop as a slave or in something like an "a data"?? Pata or Sara adaptor and then do a read of the hdd. I've had external drive that have had their internal circuits mess but, they work no problem as slave configuration.

They showed as Raw whilst on the case, proper fat or ntfs when removed- no longer attached to the case.

Either that or run an essays partition wizard on it when removed from case.

Yes, I know I keep saying remove from case that is necessary - have recovered more than 20 of the darned things using that one simple trick. Don't mean to step on any toes I'm new to the boards but, have been in computers since approx yeah! 1968 and something called the ARPAnet and BB&N.

Froze
