HELP! I have a problem with my laptop Acer EXTENSA 5635GT - Intel dual core 2.10ghz, 3gb RAM, Windows 7 OS.
The problem is that it suddenly became very slow. When I try to open any folder - it takes more time than normal. I can't do anything. Like the processor is 500mhz. I remeber my AVG showed a notification that she found Trojan horse in "odbc.exe". Is it something about it?! Also, there is a notification that my battery needs changing, but I don't use it.
I tried system restore, but there are no control points. I looked all over the laptop but it doesnt seem to be overheating. Please, help me :cry::cry::cry:

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

First, download Malwarebytes and run a full anti-virus scan in Safe Mode.

If you don't use the battery just remove it.

Have you checked to see whether System Restore is switched on?

That sounds right.

Are you saying windows couldn't find your restore points?

I agree with Seavixen, that you should run a full scan with Malwarebytes to be sure.

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download

Yes, there are no restore points :(
Just going to run a scan with this program.

Alright, after that, let us know if it finds and removes anything.

We'll work on system restore after that.

Okay, completed full scan for 40 minutes and found 12 errors:
2 Trojan.Vundo and the rest are Adwares. All this is found in registry keys.

Did you have it remove all of them?

If not, remove all and run again to make sure you are clean.

First they were moved to quarantine, but this didn't work. So I deleted them, but the problem still exists :(
When I load the OS, everything works fine for the first 1-2 minutes, and then it starts to crash

I am sorry, I can't install this program - it needs NET Framework 4 and I can't really install it right now. I can tell you anything you ask about my specs.
So I will try to explain my problem: When windows is finished loading, my laptop works fine - just like any other computer. But after 1-2 minutes my performance drops suddenly. Folders need very much time to open. If I try to open Display Properties for example, it takes about a minute to load... It's like my CPU speed suddenly drops to 500Mhz, or like I opened 10 000 other applications...
I hope you can understand me. I appreciate your efforts :(
And I am sorry for my bad english.

Run combo fix Bleeping Computer Downloads: ComboFix Download
you may need to run this in Safe mode and you will also need to disable your antivirus and keep connected to the internet
you may post the fix log here afterwards

I ran Combo Fix, but I wasn't network connected and at the beggining of the scan, this program showed me a message, that AVG is still active. However I could not find a process from AVG so I didn't switched it off. I ran it in Safe Mode.
And here I uploaded the log - Upload Your content

Remove any remaining infection then repair any damaged System files:

Run the Vundo Removal Tool from Safe Mode now: Trojan.Vundo Removal Tool | Symantec

Now uninstall AVG which no one here would recommend and install free Avast 6 which happens to have the deepest available Boot Scan in 32 bit which can be scheduled on the Scan window after installing and Updating. Restart to boot scan.

Once the infection is removed, run SFC -SCANNOW Command from an Elevated Command Prompt . If necessary run it from the booted Win7 DVD Repair Console or Repair CD Command Line: SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot
System Repair Disc - Create

If Win7 won't start to desktop now, boot back into DVD Repair Console or Repair CD to run Startup Repair repeatedly with reboots, post back results.

Startup Repair should automate System Restore, but next try it from booted Repair options anyway.

Post back results of each step for further steps.

Or you can copy out your files using DVD/Repair CD by Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console then run full Factory Recovery Acer Support: Recovery media and Restoring a system to factory load

or Clean Reinstall using Installation DVD with Product Key on COA sticker .

gregrocker is correct to say uninstall AVG and replace with Avast!
I hadnt realised you were using AVG sorry!
Following his instructions should help
AVG is certainly causing you a lot of problems there so the sooner you can get it uninstalled the better though you may find you need to reinstall it to be able to uninstall it (you will need to use the same version number i.e 4.1)
Short of running a special a "Geek squad" tool, run Avast boot time scan, Malwarebytes again and Combofix with network and disabled AV for full functionality
and spybot search & destroy
After all is done your system should be back up to speed and virus free

I have to say from the CB log i can still see a lot of issues to be fixed i.e RegistryBooster & SpeedUpMyPC ect
those are rouge programs say they help but do more harm than good and are part and parcel of why your having issues

Id like to help you to keep your pc good in the future so im going to recommend a list of good programs that will keep you relatively safe and virus free:

every 30 day scan
spybot search & destroy
Avast
MalwareBytes

When things get tough and out of hand
ComboFix

If you cant contain your OCD and want to blitz your pc of junk
CCleaner

Never trust PC optimization tools that claim to boos your pc's performance because they are the very thing that will cause you problems
