Greetings. I need a better encryption for my home network and I've tried to manage the network and change from WEP to WPA and after appearing to doing so my network becomes "X'd" out with the message: The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements of the network.

Not sure on how to proceed. Thanks for any advice.

It's best to connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and get to the Router over the wire, not wireless for this change. Then after you have both configured, you can use only wireless if you prefer.

Change your encryption on the Router and then on your computer.

Make sure you match the security type (WPA2-personal), encryption type (AES), and the passkey

WPA might be the only available option on your router - that's ok to as long as both are WPA

You can get to the wireless credential settings by going to the Network and Sharing Center then on the left you will see "Manage Wireless Connections" where you will want to delete the old wireless credentials/profile and create a new one using the net SSID, security, encryption etc. as Slartybart pointed out.
