Hi, as you can see I'm trying to downgrade windows 8 to windows 7 on my asus, x551MA, laptop with a bootable USB flash driver. I already got Secure Boot disable and CSM enabled. I'm currently having a problem which is that I'm getting a blue screen that says the following;
''A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to you computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these step:
The BIOS in this system isn't fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.

Thanks for reading.

This sounds to me like the hardware in your system is not compatible with windows 7. That message is telling me that your biggest problem right now though is that your bios is not compatible with your hardware most likely because the hardware was designed to run on windows 8 and not 7

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
Like matts6887 your bios is not likely to work you might be able to find an older version that will be compatible but even then it's possible that your drivers will not work for example your ethernet port or wireless card will not work because the drivers will need to be downloaded but you wont have an internet connection you could then again download them from another computer and but them on a flash drive then on the computer is all I could think of hope it works

the top one under bios should fix your bios and take care of any issues with going down to windows 7 but please make sure you have all network drivers and everything else in place so you don't run into any issues after install. Let me know if you have any more issues after this.

Are you booting the Win7 installer as a UEFI device? This is required to install to UEFI.

What are the settings in BIOS for UEFI, CSM, Legacy BIOS and BIOS Boot Priority order?

Thanks for reply, I'm on the BIOS thing, can you tell me the number of it ? Do you mean BIOS 513 ? If so that is the one I currently have right now.

I think I'm booting the win7 installer as a EUFI device, I got my USB formatted to FAT32.
EUFI is disabled, CSM is enabled. Isn't CSM the same as legacy ? Bios boot priority order? not sure how to answer that one.

I apologize, I don't know much about this stuff, I'm new at this.

How have you disabled UEFI?

Boot into BIOS setup and take pictures of the related settings I mentioned which are normally found on the Boot and Advanced tabs. If you only enabled CSM then it should still give you choices on the Boot tab of UEFI devices for your DVD and flash stick which should be plugged in while doing this. Set the UEFI Flash stick to boot first.

You can also access the Boot Menu using the boot key shown on first boot screen - normally by tapping immediately after power-on the F8 key for Asus. Are there UEFI choices there to choose? If not try the stick as a legacy (non-UEFI) Device, but it will need to be formatted then by Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool

Once it will get to the drive selection screen, delete all partitions to make Unallocated Space, then click Next. If you want to create your partitions with something special in mind then use the Drive Options pictured below.
