One very good reason that the regular Cat 10.1 won't install for you, there is no support for that video card in it. Pretty sure the same can be said about the mobility modder, it doesn't show that it works with that card either.

Have you tried the driver for it from Acer?

Yeah. And, as I recall, when installing it in custom mode there was no option to install driver itself... As I posted above.

These are mine, i also installed the drivers from the acer website but with no results.
Clean install of windows 7 same problems

Trpla in your case not sure why the driver from Acer isn't installing as the DevID is in the INF. Greenius no idea why but yours isn't, something to take up with Acer as it is their responsibility to modify the drivers as needed for the video cards they sell/support.

Greenius one thing you can try with the Acer driver is to add the DevID yourself. Just unzip it and go to the,

VGA_ATI_8.672.3.0_W7x86W7x64_A\Packages\Drivers\Display

folder and open either W7_INF or W76A_INF (32 and 64 bit respectively) and open the C7_92448.inf in Notepad. Scroll down to the [ATI.Mfg.NTamd64.6.1] section then keep scrolling till you come to the 5470 listing and change one of them to match with your cards DevID. Then try installing again.

If that doesn't work (this goes for both of you) try installing the driver manually through Device Manager (if you haven't already), by selecting "Update Driver" and pointing it to the folder with the INF in it.

Hei! I tried to add DevID, but... After downloading VGA driver folder from Acer Homepage for my exact model, for Win7 Ultimate x64 (for my exact video adapter too, as I was hoping) and opening setup info file, all I can see is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4000 series. Not the 5000 series, which is the one I have. Or not... :huh: Weird- on my laptops' sticker there is HD 5470, but in many hardware review sites there is said that this laptop has HD 4570... Haven't checked all places but now I'm not shure which is mine...

Change the .txt to .inf, then replace the INF in the Acer folder with this one.

Ok, thx, I'll try. Just one more thing- does it means something if my inf file is called C7_84363 instead of yours- C7_92448. Or maybe I should just rename it?

Yeah, it says I got it from the wrong model. I used the 5740G and not the 7540G, which would probably be a better bet for you as it is a newer driver. Download the driver from the 5740G and then replace the INF in it with the one I uploaded.

No because your card is already in that one (from the 5740G). Hit Ctrl+F and look for 033E1025 on this page and it will show up in the list of DevID's.

Ok, so I dwnloaded VGA driver for 5740g, replaced INF, installed... Nothing- installer announced that all components are up to date. When I replaced INF with the one in 7540g VGA driver folder, installer gave me an option to install additional drivers for things I've never dreamed of... In either case when installing in custom mode, in the list there was no such thing as display driver. Every single time I installed with Catalyst install manager it was the same thing. I assume I'm getting quite annoying with my problem, but what can I do...

the steps are all the same IN 7 as in Vista. When you get to the browse part, point it to the folder that has that INF in it.

You guys have no idea how much I searched the net for someone with the same problem.. Although the cards are different I´m am having the exact same problem!

I really dont know what to do anymore.. i´ve tried everything you guys said to do and still i end up with an old driver that windows insists on saying its the best.

When I try to manually intall windows says catalyst driver for win7 x64 is not compatible with windows 7 x64 .. And keeps the old one.

My video card is Ati radeon hd3200 integrated.

COuld you please help me? I never had to post anything ever before.. I could always find someone who had the problem before and solved it.. but this one is kicking my ass..

i have a new problem now, i cant upgrade my intel graphics adapter becuase its linked with ati and when i install new drivers my cmoputer wont boot, i have to system restore... ACER=Fail
