Problems with NVIDIA nForce Network Controller

I know there are bunch of topics like this but I was too scared to try stuff suggested in them

Okay so here's the thing:
I recently upgraded to Windows 7. As I have an old computer I was thrilled to find it working.

But I have the infamous NVIDIA nForce Network Controller and I tried the thing they suggested on Microsoft website. I even tried updating drivers, since I figured the ones that came with the updates weren't good. And it fixed it. For a while.
Then few days ago (I couldn't run Aero or the games) I installed some Vista drivers for my graphics card (since they don't make them for Win 7) and even though it fixed the graphics problem, connection problems started again.
I don't know if it's related, but my connection drops every 30 seconds or so which is exactly what it did before. The "drop" is not enough to cause big problems but it's really annoying. Downloading speed jumps from 400kb/s to 320kb/s and it does it ALL the time. I get kicked off Skype and FB chat regularly. The Network access icon usually stays the same, but I sometimes see the red circle thingy, although not too often.

What do I do? As I said I read bunch of stuff but drivers aren't really my thing I don't want to poke around and screw it up even more :D
Please help
Thanks in advance :)

As far as I know NVidia fixed these connection problems long ago.

It sounds like you are using some old hardware which is the only reason I can think of for running the old drivers.

The connection problem with the old NVidia drivers could usually be fixed by going into the Advanced settings of the network adaptor and Disable the Receive Side Scaling option.
