I wouldn't buy them as there's only a slim chance it'll will work.
Thinking about it the solution I posted would be for a monitor that had dvi and vga input and the graphics card had only dvi, but it should work the other way around to if it works at all.
Also it would depend on if the adaptor and vga cable connector would fit in the back of the monitor, it wouldn't on my mothers it has down facing connectors kind of inset and theres not enough room for an adpator.
My graphics card came with a hdmi to female dvi adaptor so thats another option if yours did.
You could check with your friends to see if any of them have either adaptor you could borrow. If you can't borrow one I'd wait for some other solutions and keep searching google.
