Hi,

My hair is turning grey...

The problem..
When I try to right click a folder /sub folder, picture or video the "right click context menu" wont appear, the mouse indicator just starts working/loading - then loading.. then Nothing..
I need to do a ctrl alt delete to stop the indicator from "loading". I can right click the desktop + browser and the context menu appears..
Never had this problem before .. What to do???

I have scanned the computer for malware, virus etc..
RAM= Ok..

HP Probook 5310m
windows 7

Thankful for any help!

Br,

Two things you can try, if you haven't done so already.
1) Use a System Restore Point to restore your laptop to time when it was functioniong properly
2) Run the System File Checker to see if it can fix the problem, by opening a command prompt with admininstrative priviliges and type sfc /scannow, making sure to keep a space between sfc and /scannow.

not working..

@LittleJay, tnxfor input. I have 2 issues/ problems with your suggestions.
1, I have never set a Restore point and from what I understand Windows dont generate restore points by itself--> so where does that leave me??
2, when I do a Sfc /scannow the prompter just flashes by not indicating that there is a problem..

If you haven't actually turned off System Restore, then you should have some restore points to use, because Windows 7 creates them automatically everytime it makes changes to your system, like installing updates. Go into Control Panel and open up Backup and Restore. Open Recover System Settings or Your Computer. Then click on Open System Restore. If System Restore isn't turned on you will get a message to that effect, otherwise you will see a list of available restore points to use.

As LittleJay suggested, run System Restore. When you get to the window showing your restore points, notice the box is the lower left corner "Show more restore points" and put a check mark in the box. You should have restore points going back several weeks or more.
