hey so i just upgraded to windows 7 ultimate and i put halo on my computer and it said directdraw failed initialization. please use DXDIAG.
so i did and Direct3D is enabled, the other two (DirectDraw, Other One..) say not available.

What ive tried:

New graphics driver, still doesnt work.

Trying to get DX9, said it worked and absolutely nothing changed.

going into BIOS and making sure graphics card is set as priority over integrated, it is.

Looking online for the past 4 hours.

I have two intel 3.2 processers
2GB ddr2ram
80gb hard drive
nvidia geforce 6200 card

Nothing i have tried has worked and i would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here, thanks!

Your DirectX may be corrupt or your video hardware acceleration might have to be increased.

thanks for responding,
ive tried increasing hardware acceleration under the troubleshoot tab for the graphics card, theres no option for it.
just properties and thats grayed out.

is there a way to downgrade to a previous version of directx?
i tried the Directx_june2010_redist application thing it installed and stuff but made no difference.

by turning resolution down to 800by600 halo started but even then it played like shit even on lowest settings.

thanks,
Aaron.

I have a Geforce graphic card with the following information:

A6200 M6A201
GF FX6200A 512M
09DEC00741

I want to install its driver using its CD, but I cannot because I encounter the error message "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup".
Please help me to install my graphic card. My windows is 'Windows '7.
(When I had Windows XP on my PC there was no problem)

masoudr, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Use it as a coaster or throw it out, as there is nothing on the CD that came with the card for Windows 7. At best it will have a rather old Vista driver on it. What you need is the 32 bit Windows 7 driver from Nvidia,

NVIDIA DRIVERS 285.62 WHQL

Also seeing as your card is the AGP model, you will also need a working AGP driver (part of the chipset, and required for the video card driver to install).

Dear srormy13

I used the NVIDIA DRIVERS 285.62 WHQL (285.62-desktop-win7-winvista-32bit-english-whql), but the
program said that "This graphic driver could not find compatible graphics hardware".
Furthermore, my card is a AGP one and I cannot understand what you mean by "you will also need a working AGP driver (part of the chipset, and required for the video card driver to install).
Please explain for me what I shoud do.

Bests,
Masoud
