Solved program treated as file in windows search

Hello,
i'm on windows 7, and I use the windows search a lot to execute programs (i just have to open start menu, type the beginning of the program name and press enter)
But infortunately, programs that are not in the intalled programs list are not found easily, for example, i use Eclipse a lot, which has an "unzip installation".
If i try to launch that program the same way i launch every other program, i got some issues :
- first issue, the search is significantly slower
- second issue, the first results of the search are never "eclipse.exe" which i want, it is always directories and useless files,
- third issue, as the match "eclipse.exe" is considered a file and not a program, the quick launch with enter doesn't work, i have to select it first

so finally, instead of typing "ecl" then [enter] to launch Eclipse, i have to type "eclipse.exe" then wait until the search ends, then press [down] then press [enter].

I understand that my problem can simply be a missing feature of windows 7, but if there is a way to fix this i would love to hear how to do it.

P.S. : Sorry for eventual mistakes, english isn't my native language.

Hello anselme, I like to simply put a shortcut on my desk top , for easy access.
This doesn't solve my problem, i have lots of programs installed and i don't want to have icons for every program on my desktop.
All this wasin your previous thread here:
Search bar doesn't find program
In that thread, the answers are helping me solve my indexing problems, not my "program treated as file" problem, and this is exactly why i created this new thread.

I solved the problem.
Adding a shortcut to eclipse.exe in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" or in "C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" seems to magically add Eclipse to the index's program list.

Adding a shortcut to eclipse.exe in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" or in "C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" seems to magically add Eclipse to the index's program list.

You beat me to the solution :)

Adding a shortcut for the program to the Start menu will find it when you use the search in Start Menu.

Search has different scopes when launched form different locations (Start Menu search box, Explorer search box, or from a saved search).

Excellent!

You could have pinned Eclipse.exe to the Start menu.
