Programs crash & internet connection's slow & hangs after reinsalling

I did the "right" thing, and started the year with a new reformatting and a fresh re-installation of my Windows 7 OS, however, I am now paying for it with a lot of problems with my internet connection and other things. I have tried my connection using 3 browsers, with add-ons disabled, and the problem persists. Browsing is incredibly slow and it freezes whenever I try to get to another page.
On the computer itself, a lot of my programs crash when I try to use them. Mostly audio programs like Audacity or Power Sound Editor.
Before I go and do a new reformatting and go through the hell of reloading everything, I thought I'd ask if there's a setting that I'm overlooking or what.
Please help!

Hi Labecs.

If it's solely Internet related, that's one thing. But if it's happening with non-Internet programs, it's another. Did you reinstall your OS for a reason (where there problems)?

**EDIT** probably not virus-related, HC4L, as it's a fresh install

I had just gone over a year without doing a fresh install, which I like to do once in a while. I started having some lagging on stuff, but definitely not like this. When I install the first thing in there is my Avast Internet Pro antivirus and Malwarebytes.
Am I doomed for another fresh install or a new computer (lol!!! hope not!)

Is this a genuine Microsoft operating system (you own the license)? Did you reinstall from same media? Where you previously running Windows 7 and, if so, was it 32- or 64-bit then and now?

Yes, it's mine. It came with my computer in which I did the rollback to factory condition. It's a 64 bit.

Bring up Event Viewer, look at Windows Logs, and see if you have any errors or warnings.
Also, look at Device Manager and see if you have any yellow symbols.
Let us know what you find.

Wow, I have no idea of what I'm doing... lol... but, device manager shows no yellow symbols, and the even log shows tons of errors, but I don't understand what they mean at all, so I am including a copy of the error list.

There were a ton of disk errors with the install. Would you run a error check on your hard drive?

  1. Open the "Computer" window
  2. Right-click on the drive in question
  3. Select the "Tools" tab
  4. In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>.
