I need some help. I fix the proxy server problem but a day later it just comes back.

I fix it like this

1. I make sure that in internet properties The box is checked to use proxy as LAN. The port is 80.

2. I restart my computer in safe mode.

3. I go into registry internet settings and delete all things proxy.

4. I restart my computer and it is fixed. Well until the next day that is...

So I did all of these steps and it fixes the proxy but then the proxy just seems to come back the very next day It isn't damaging my computer in anyway it is just annoying to have to fix it every time i get on the computer. Please help and thanks if you do.

I find myself using an admin account to do all my system configs, then only use a user account from that point on. I don't know if it would help, but it can't hurt to try. Setup a user account, then log into your admin account to make whatever changes are necessary, then only use the user account during the typical work day and use the admin account when you install software or make system config changes.

This may or may not work for you, but it's something to try that shouldn't take alot of time.

This is probably the longest I've ever had a Windows machine run without having to restore it to scratch. I'm used to restoring to "factory" about every 2 yrs. I've run with Win7 since new in 2009 and only recently (Nov, '14) restored to clean up the machine from all my 'xperimenting. LOL!! I may never need another machine.

Upgraded to 10 when it was still free, then installed 2017 update.
Hmm, that box should be unchecked if you are not using one (as far as I know-default is unchecked).
Maybe you are causing the issue yourself? Or I have trouble understanding :)

I'm going to check the box and test it tomorrow because it takes a day to come back.

Do you use a VPN or the like that might be changing the settings?

Have you scanned your system for infections? Some bad things will set up a proxy so they can call Home.

I have scanned my computer and there are no infection. Also, after a while, the Box keeps getting checked for a LAN server when I unchecked it.

Is this your personal computer or work one? Maybe it is coming back with group policy. Just guessing here.
