Hey all, I am in need of some help. We have a network with roughly 500-700 PC's with no domain controller which obviously makes it very difficult to make changes.

I am locking proxy settings using the ProxySettingsPerUser registry. Then I am applying proxy settings to to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. This is working out great on XP. When it comes to Windows 7 though I am hitting a wall. I can run the scripts to change the registry for turning the proxy on or off, but the settings don't take effect untill I right click IE and hit run as administrator, then what ever the registry settings are get applied. I have been trying to pin this down for days and I am getting very close. I was hoping there might be some other ideas or solutions to try also. I appreciate any and all advice that can be given.

Please anyone with some ideas? I can't figure out why the setting won't take effect until IE is run as administrator. I am having this issue only on Win7/Vista. This is not a problem at all in WinXP.

My script modifies the registry proxy settings for IE. In order to get the proxy change to take effect I must right click IE and Run as Administrator, once it is run as administrator once it is all set. This has me quite stumped. I really appreciate any input provided.

Yea this issue still has me stumped. There has to be a way around this. Everything is working perfectly with WinXP.
