Purchasing help.

case end to first optical is 7.3 inches. Give or take. I measure from the case end to where the plug for the DVD reader is.

The 1000-1050 watt looks to be too long for your current case. I would switch to a 850 watt as they measure 6.3" long and that should give you just enough room. You may need to plug the optical in both the optical and PSU before installing the PSU.

Sorry if I missed anything, I looked through all 7 pages, from what I gather the OP is looking to change his GPU to a Titan or a 690 right?

Would the current CPU not be a bottleneck with the new card? I am not too clued up with AMD CPU's but I think its a fairly old one right?

I don't want him to go out and spend a hell of a lot on a new GPU only to find its restricted massively due to the CPU.

Paul.

Paul I don't believe so as it's not that old and is a quick six core. But I hope the OP has taken proper steps to measure the new card and PSU for fit in what seems like a tight case. Currently we need to fit a top mounted PSU into a 7.3 inch space from case end to optical plug......that's tight with a full modular 1000/1050 watt that measures 7.3" deep.

Ok well that's good to know Alan.

It does concern me he is going to spend so much on a new GPU when you could build a pretty nice new rig for the same price.

If it was me, and I know this is not what he was asking, but I would look to upgrade the rest of the rig first starting with a nice case to house everything.

Paul.

from the top, like with case side panel on, I got 8 inches. Was that a miss calculation? And I have a AMD Phenom II x6 1075t @ 3.0 GHz. The corsair hx 1000 is 6 by 4 by 4 (L * W * H)

Forgive my ignorance, I am only trying to help, but you are gonna spend around £1000 on a new GPU and PSU, can I suggest you spend an extra £80 and get a new case. You could get a very nice case for that and it will fit anything you wish to put in.

My same thoughts. Precrime do yourself a favor and your hardware and get a bigger case. 69 post trying to cam all the stuff in a to small case will not make the case bigger.

lol, I can't. If I wanted a new case, I'd make a thread to ask for a good case. But seriously, would a 6.5 by 5.9 by 3.4 psu, or the coolermaster silent pro m one series. 1000w model.

That's a nice PSU, compact, semi modular, 80% Bronze, Japan Resistors, 5 yrs. If it's a good price then go for it. If it's nearing 200.00 USD then look to Corsair or Seasonic but it's a trick little pony.

They wouldn't design that for the reason that PSU's must mount either in the top or bottom and either with fan up or down, only option that handles all that is rear connections.
