Solved Purpose of 'Lost files' folder in windows explorer?

Hi Everyone
I may have posted this query previously so forgive me for being a 'newby'.
I like to keep my PC nice and tidy (maybe to the point of OCD sometimes) so I am always looking for bits of programs and software that I can safely delete.
I have just come across a file in windows explorer named 'Lost Folders', and after spending several hours trolling the net, I cannot find any references to it. Does anyone out there have any clues as to what its purpose is, and can it be safely deleted.

It's not part of Windows 7. Must have been created by one of the programs you installed.

You were right! I checked the path and could not find any references to windows, so it must be remnents of an old program. I threw it into the recycle bin and things are still hunky dory. Will keep it there for a while just in case.

P.S. Wish I was back in FL. I lived in Tampa (Eastlake woodlands raquet and golf community condo's, Oldsmar FL34677) from 1987 to 1993 and still miss it!
