hi guys, just wondering if there is a way(pretty sure there is) to push a song over my win7 network so that it plays on all the machines at the same time. like i open the song on my comp and it magically plays on all the comps. all machines are win7(only one is 32 bit).

I don't think there is a way. For that to happen, the program in the compter you are broadcasting FROM need to be able to send a command to the computerS your are broadcasting TO such that it will play an audio stream. That's pretty much controller a device on another computer remotely and unobtrusively, which is a pretty hard thing to do. However, I would also like to know if there is a way to do this. Thanks

Actually, I just thought of a workaround.

If it is possible to set up an internet radio station, then you can also set up an radio station on one PC, except it'll just be a LAN radio station. It should be easier to do too, I'm sure there are guides online.

Then you just need to set your favorite music player to connect to the stream.

The important thing is the address to your stream. If all the other PCs are connected to the same address, then it will all play whatever song you're streaming.

I've set up something similar between my PC and my Wii before, to stream whatever music that's playing on my PC and also youtube videos.

I think the keywords "streaming music over LAN" in Google will get you the needed guides. Good luck.

However this won't automatically make the other computers play the music. The other computers have to open the music player first and connect to the stream. But, you can set them to do this every startup.
