Question about a fresh install of win 7

I did the free upgrade of Win 10 but each day I find more and more things that I don't like about how win 10 makes my computer run. So I am going to install Win 7 64 Bit from my disk.

I looked at some files that I was going to copy and the folders have everything in them as "read only"

How can I make sure all folders and files are not "read only" I don't want to get rid of one problem "win 10" just to get another problem, all files transferred to my newly install win 7 and have all the folders and files
"read only"

If I do this I want to do it correct

Thank you for the link, it had everything and more than I needed to know to take back ownership. I'm told that the only dumb questions one not asked, So I will ask, when a file or folder has the box filled with a black square and say s "Read only ( only applies to files in a folder ) I always thought a read only folder or file was just to read and you couldn't make any changes. I tested it last night and I was able to make changes so,
What is a read only file or folder and how would it affect me if I moved that file that is "Read only ( only applies to files in a folder )now in win 10. I would appreciate if someone could explain it to me, why does a folder or file become "read only" and does it have any limitations on what I can do to that folder or file anytime in the future??

Hi,
Read only means the folder/ file is not shared using home group or with other users on the same machine using different user accounts
Essentially read only means nothing if you see it in you documents folder area
The three sections that are shared "if" using a home group network with other machines is my music/ my pictures/ my videos.
My Documents is excluded by default but can be added.

Strange, W10 is quicker on my Z170 then W7 (and by that I mean milliseconds) and boot up of course.

What do you mean by "How W10 makes my computer run"
