questions regarding different discs and activation

I broke my Windows 7 Ultimate disc so I had a friend burn me a copy of his but I wrote down my activation info code and stuff. if I were to have to reinstall Windows 7, would I be able to use that burnt disc using my info and it still be activated and genuine?

Hello Alduins,

Yes. What matters is the product key. You can install with any Windows installation media for the edition (ex: Ultimate) that your product key is for, and activate with your key.

If your friends disc does not work, burn your own from here - just make sure it matches your product key.
