Howdy there folks,
I recently purchased/built a new desktop for myself. I kept my monitor from my old machine. It's a widescreen monitor by Haier and with the old computer I could crank up the resolution to 1920x1200 or so. The same monitor now can only go up to 1600x1200 (which is a 4:3 resolution ) with the new computer and video card. It's detected as a "NonPnP" monitor by the 7, and I've done a reinstall of the video card drivers.
Anyway to "unlock" those other resolutions? I know the monitor can handle them.

I would check to make sure you have the drivers for your monitor :)

Welcome To Windows 7 support forums,
Southpaw, I suggest going to the Radeon Website and downloading the ATI catalyst drivers for your particular O/S, x86 or x64 then install and reboot with your connected monitor of choice.

Adrian

I don't have any monitor drivers, could you point me in the right direction as to finding those? Google Search turned up empty and so did Haier's site

I've done this two or three times now, it hasn't allowed me to select any higher resolutions.

It's been above 1366x768 constantly on the other machine. O_o

edit: It can go to 1920x1200 in some games but not in the desktop.
