raid 0 clean installation help

Hey guys, I recently bought two ssds and striped them with my on board raid. Any ways i got windows 7 installed on it just fine ( after i got the driver issues worked out )

But my problem is that I was looking forward to a fast boot time, but now every time i boot it go's to a screen that detects all of my storage devices.

after that it boots......anybody know whats going on ?

My RAID0 does the same thing. I think it is something you just have to live with. I searched for a work-around and found nothing. If you come up with something please post. Also I would be interested in knowing if your drives begin slowing after a few weeks/months? TRIM apparently does not work with RAID. Would be very interested in how this evolves.

You scared me a bit with the trim not working on raid, but i just checked and it seems to be working.
Also i think the boot up can be changed, cause i see a bunch of people on youtube with raid 0 showing off their fast boot ups.

Yea, Your RAID Card or controller or whatever is initializing and looking for all the storage devices on the system. If you can access the BIOS for the controller you should at least be able to set the timeout on the device detection timeout, or disable parts of that all together, to get some of that boot time down...

I wouldn't bother with RAID0 on the two SSD's - the gain isn't that great
SSD's are incredibly quick anyway - RAID isn't going to make a lot of difference

TRIM doesn't work in RAID, there may be work-arounds but the real-world speed gains aren't worth the risk, IMO

you're better off getting a single large SSD rather than tweaking around with two small ones..

when i type in fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify it tells me that trim is working with my two ssd's in raid..... I could be mislead though.

im using the onboard raid that came with my asus m3n-ht deluxe mobo.
