Hello. I installed a Raid 0 configuration recently. Motherboard Asus P5Q pro, 2 Samsung 1T HD. The board manual indicates that the raid disks must be connected to ports 0,1. They don't seem to be working though, so I tried ports 4,5, and it went well. Windows 7 recognized the disk and installed normally, the performance is reasonably good. In device manager I have the raid disk entry as well as the Intel raid controller. My question is: could it be that some "software raid " was configured, and that a better performance could be possible (if the ports 0,1 were ok)? Thank you.

From what I have read about Raid...Other posts.
Windows 7 is largely allergic to RAID. None of the standard troubleshooting steps work with RAID either, so we are at a loss here to help until someone familar with the dated RAID technology (rarely) steps forward.

Ok, I rechecked the manual and after all only Asus DriveXPert mode requires the use of ports 0,1. So the question makes no sense. Thanks anyway. :)

Yep, you have to use ports 0 and 1 for raid on p5Q. I have a P5K which is not that different. I guess that's the way Asus sets things up.
