I keep running into low memory problems (as noted by performance and by task manager). I have:
Windows 7 Home Premium Solid State Drive Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz 2.83 GHz
Ram: 8.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
An example would be that yesterday on my desktop I wanted to move a 7 mb video file into a folder and it took forever and the ram being used was 89%. That was the only application that was running.
This happened after I restored via EaseUS ToDo to an earlier version of my operating system.
Are there any diagnostics I could run to determine what is going on here? Any thing else I should do?
Thanks for any input.

Right now it isn't too bad. It does not use all the ram all of the time. It is at 43% with three applications open. I will make a screenshot when it loses the memory.

I ran a memory diagnostic test and that was fine. However my paging file may be the problem. It is set at 8,190 mb at this time. The recommended is 12285 MB. The minimum is 16 MB.
I think I will try to increase the size to 12285 mb. I wonder if it would be good to move it to a different drive (now on C Drive).
Input appreciated.

I ran the memory diagnostics test and that indicated no problems. I then changed the pagefile setting and increased them to a recommended amount. I left the pagefile on the C drive but kind of wish I would have put it on the D drive. The only setting I had problems with was the initial setting. I have 8GB of ram so I changed the initial size to 12285 mb and the maximum size to 12285 mb also.I only have one application running which is the Firefox browser and my physical memory is running at 22% or 1.86 GB at present.
It will be interesting to see if this will help.
If I have set the initial setting on the pagefile incorrectly it would be great if someone would let me know.
Thanks

Usually setting the page file to be managed by the system should be good.
Firefox is using quite a bit of resources there. How many tabs do you have open, and do you have any toolbars or add-ons installed that may be hogging the resources?
For me Firefox opened with one tab and nothing else running in it uses about 82 MB.

I keep quite a number of Firefox tabs open. I do have a couple of YouTube downloaders. It really does seem like Firefox is hogging things.

I run a few programs that reveal I always have Adware "tracking cookies". Every day I get rid of a bunch of them. I wonder if this could be a factor and if there is some program that would block them? I just rant SuperAntiSyware and I have 143 "threats" which seems to be Adware. I do this daily.
Thanks
