RAM upgrade leading to bootloops and BSOD, error BAD POOL.

Hello everyone!
I got Acer aspire 5742g
i5 480M @ 2.67
Currently installed 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
I'm using Win7 Home Pre x64.

An year back I bought 4x2 GB Corsair RAM and replaced the RAM which was available with the laptop.

One of the ram was malfunctioning so I got it replaced. Now when I installed the new ram the laptop boots up, goes through BIOS and starts loading windows. But then it reboots itself and starts loading again.

This loops continues until I remove it and use my old ram. When I install only my new ram its gives me BSOD error (IRQL LESS OR EQUALS TO, and BAD POOL ERROR).

I tried loading into safe mode, but then it freezes after loading ClassCNP.sys (or something like that).
I even decided to format my system but it seems like it won't even load up the UI for installing new OS.

I'm stuck as I want to upgrade to 8GB but I'm not able to.
Please assist with the problem.

Sounds like you still have problematic RAM, either faulty or non compatible
You may need to manually set the ram speed and voltages in your bios to get them to run, this info should be marked on the packet the ram came in and also on a sticker on the ram itself

You could try running memtest to check the ram for you or try individual stick to see if some work and some dont

Is the ram matched ie all identical make/model etc

The RAM you're getting are they dual channel kits ? If they are if one RAM is bad you replace both memory sticks and get a whole new kit .
