I ran the latest version of MemTest86 - Offical Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool

At the end of the test it asked me to save a html report yes or no and I choose arrow left for yes but I don't know where it stored this html report?

in any case I wrote everything down just in case.

here it is:

At pass 3/4 it found an error

>Test: 13 Addr: 3644941A8 expected: FFFFFFFF Actual FFFFFBFF CPU: 0

It said in total 3 errors but only shows the above.

The summary results:

Lowest error address: 0x3644941AB (13892MB)
Highest error address: 0x3644941AB (13892MB)

Bits in error mask: 0000000000000400
Max contiguuous Errors: 1

I have in total 24 GB, and have 4 sticks, used to have 2 but then I upgraded my memory with two extra sticks.

Use corsair for all 4.

How can I fix this? Is this a wrong setting in the bios?

Also should I worry with this result?

It's not a setting in the BIOS. Memtest86+ has found a fault in one of your RAM sticks, meaning that stick is potentially faulty and will need to be replaced.

I would run the test again, overnight this time. Let it go for around 8 passes and see what happens. Report back the results and we'll go from there.

Well I did as you said and ran the test again.

Here is the result which I think is good and should assure me all is not so bad as it is?

It looks good. I wonder why you got that one error. It looks as though the memory is working correctly and there are no problems.

If you start noticing weird behaviour or BSODs test your RAM again.

Looks like you ran MemTest86. You need to run MemTest86+.....note the +.

Its the only reliable memory test. You MUST run it for 8 passes...not 8 tests...with that amount of RAM, it will take several hours. Run it overnight.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Okay I'll do that and I don't have to configure anything? Like choose how many CPU cores it uses?

Cause if it just uses 1 out of 8 I got then it will take VERY VERY long

I ran it for 2 and a half hours then I thought this is gonna take 18 hours like last time I didn't configure so I thought not againright? Like memtest the original I can choose the number of tests it runs and the cpu it uses.

It was running all tests. It finished 1 pass already and I know I need to let it do 8 but with how many tests?

There is no way to properly make it do what I want...

But no this program is bad in terms of configuration. Really compared to memtest it sucks big time. Not a + at all. Even froze on me...

It didn't "freeze" on you - if was busy with a test.

You run it exactly as explained in the tutorial - it doesn't require any configuration. Stop over-analysing the issue by trying to control the tests, you don't need to. Simply leave it to run overnight. Read the tutorial again.

MemTest86+ is without a doubt the only way to test RAM - there is NO other method that gives reliable results.

The timer didn't count up anymore and whatever button I pushed like escape or C or anything no response from the program. You sure?

But alright i'll let it run again with no config change.
