Random active window focusing issue

Hello,

First time post, apologises if I don't include all the relevant information you require first time.

Essentially my problem is this - At a random time period the active window I have open, either clicking or typing in will lose focus despite no interaction from myself to do so, but in the Windows task bar it still shows as the presently active window.

I've already run a full anti-viral and anti-malware/root kit check before submitting this topic, I've made sure that Windows is up to date along with drivers for attached devices. It is becoming quite a nuisance now as I use this machine for writing and gaming.

Any advice you could render would be appreciated.

Hi MrTiger and welcome to Seven Forums.

So what your saying is the window that you have open will lose focus basically?

Did you do any updates or installs recently?

Hi,

Yes the window I have open will lose focus despite no alt-tabbing or new application opening.

Windows update did occur as normal, I suppose I could roll these back to see if this helps.

Already run the /SFC command, no system files damaged according to this. I have run a separate adware check this turned up one item but I suspect that it was more erroneous than a cause of this issue, still having the problem and it seems quite illusive.

Please go to this page and try this. I don't know if this will work but it has for a few people. Scroll down to the Disabling Protected Mode in Flash post back and let me know. Flash - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

Hi,

I did uninstall everything Windows Patch wise this month and did the above, the problem stopped yesterday but has reappeared today, the strange thing is that I removed Ad-Aware last night and the problem reoccurred this morning after restarting. I suspect this is unrelated but something I think should be stated

Delete done, ran ccleaner and the registry clean through, just waiting to see if this re-replicates itself.

Mr Tiger what suggestions does your I.T. Department have to solve this problem.
The reason I ask is your specs show Enterprise as your operating system.

My IT department are quite frankly uninterested in resolving this issue, despite it being an annoyance when writing documents or emails. Hence why I've taken to looking into this issue myself on my own time.

I imagine you suspect I'm running a dodgy Windows Install hence the questioning?

No it was just a question because most I.T.Departments really don't like employees changing how things work and this site normally recommend not over riding a I.T.Department.
