I am getting a BSOD about weekly and at random times. Mouse movements are often jerky and sometime precede a crash.

Report attached.

There are no dumps in your logs to analyse.

  1. Open Advanced System Settings
  2. Click on Settings in Startup & Recovery
  3. Make sure both boxes indicated below are checked
  4. In the dropdown box ensure you're set to record Small Memory Dumps

I have a memory dump checked but not the restart--I thought you shouldn't do that do you can analyze the error message?

Anyway I can't find a dump file despite the fact that the system crashed today. I looked in windows and minidump and nothing was there. Is there another place?

Follow these steps:

1. Configure Windows to create minidumps:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

2. Set the paging file on C: to be the same size as the physically installed RAM:
Virtual Memory Paging File - Change

3. Set the Windows Error Reporting service to MANUAL:

4. Test to see that dump files are created:
- Open Windows Task Manager
- Navigate to the Processes tab
- Right-click on explorer.exe, and click Create Dump File

- Note the location of the saved file

- Check that location and confirm that explorer.dmp exists

Okay--now I have a dump file because the system just crashed. I don't see a valid file extension for attaching a dmp file

Here is the most recent report but I still don't see a dump file in there even though the system is set to capture one
