Hello,

I have come to the forum after trying to fix the problem myself. I re-installed Windows 7 about a month ago after increasingly common BSOD, thought it was my bad overclock on my custom PC. Just starting crashing again 2 days ago, went through a fresh install with all BIOS settings reset. It's been sorta stable but upon using driver verifier today it crashes while loading windows.

x64 Windows 7 Pro
Originally had Vista, system about 3-4 yrs old, but have upgraded a few parts, full information in profile.
Both OS were for "system builders".

I broke down and bought a driver updater, so hopefully drivers are up to date. Windows Update current. Not sure if this matters but I am using 2 sets of DDR2 that are have different voltages (1.8V and 2V) and speed settings, CPUZ shows 6144MB running in Dual Channels and DC Mode is Symmetric. Windows 7 MemDiagnostic tool showed no errors, have run check disk and /scan sfc with no errors as well.

Rolled back Video driver because yesterday Everquest 2 crashed with a D3D error, found at [EQ2] Latest Supported Video Devices and Device Drivers

Thanks for the help, I'm out of my league and at my wit's end!

Ok, so I guess it seemed silly to me that I wouldn't update the video driver so I am following the instructions posted here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-...ng-ntoskrnl-exe-atikmdag-sys-dxgmms1-sys.html

Although my fist BSOD on Bluescreenview has atikmdag.sys (and ntoskrnl.exe) in red, which I'm pretty sure had the newest driver then. I will post results of the OCCT test.

-Forgot to mention OCCT made me update Direct X 9 when installing it.

On to Memtest

Updated ATI driver and ran OCCT GPU test, passed successfully, ran Prime 95 for 41 min for CPU, no errors detected. Now I am testing RAM using Memtest 86.

Memtest ran for about 11 hours and 7 passes, no errors detected.

Have a question though, does the fact that my pc crashed during driver verifier prove that it is driver related? Or could it still be hardware?
