Nothing, but if you don't learn some patience quickly you won't get fookall help.

The BSOD section is very busy....you just have to suck it up and wait your turn.

at last someone replied. that's all i need. i'll just wait then. hopefully my OS doesn't corrupt itself. have lost a couple of files from all the instability.

i also wondered if background information was lacking hence the lack of response.

i'll be doing the memtest tonight.

FYI, i've used BlueScreenView.exe to check each dump. there are some other files causing the BSODs.

Listed below:

atikmdag.sys
ntoskrnl.exe
win32k.sys
ataport.sys
fltmgr.sys
ntfs.sys
usbport.sys

it almost feels like a lot of the ASUS mobo drivers installed are outdated. what's your gut feel sir?

With the exception of the video driver (atikmdag.sys) it's quite certain the others are not too blame, being Windows system files.

Unfortunately, the "caused by" designation in all the BSOD analysis software is wrong in 99% of cases - the report what system file was being accessed, and incorrectly assign the blame to it. The reason is because the cause of BSOD's are so complex.

I agree with you - it never hurts to keep fiels updated, both Windows and ASUS, in your case. It can't hurt, so encourage that.

the memtest has been running for about 7hrs and at pass 3 atm. pass 2 however has errors on test 7 already.

i guess my RAM is the culprit?

should i do further testing by testing each RAM piece individually?

Yes, it appears to be faulty RAM or a faulty motherboard RAM slot.

Proceed to test each RAM stick individually for 8 passes in motherboard slot #1 and report back.

Those errors mean that one or more RAM DiMM's require replacing.

Re-run 8 passes on each DiMM individually (it will be reasonably quick). Any DiMM that generates those errors must be replaced - they cannot be fixed.

hi Golden, bad news. i have 3 of 4 DiMM pieces which gave errors.

of the last one which i did 8passes twice, i'm still encountering BSoD. attached dumps again. :(((

So the 4th DiMM passes 8 MemTest86+ passes?

You need to replace those DiMM's with new ones - all of them must be the same as the last working DiMM, before we can troubleshoot further.

sorry to trouble you on a weekend. yes, the last DiMM passed 2x 8pass MemTest86+ tests.

so it's not possible to do troubleshooting on the BSoD dump that happened with the 1pc of working DiMM above?

Now follow the "Part 3: If You Have Errors:" of How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+

Errors/red lines means one or more RAM is faulty. But the fault may occur due to a faulty DIMM slot, too, which is a motherboard component. Using memtest86+, you can discriminate between a faulty RAM and a faulty motherboard.

How? Say you have two RAM sticks and two DIMM slots. You obtained errors at the test with all RAM sticks installed. Now, remove all the sticks but one. Test it in all the available slots, one by one. Continue the same procedure for all the available sticks.
How to make the inference that is it a RAM issue or it is a motherboard issue? Suppose you have got the result like that:

test|Slot1|Slot2
RAM1| Error | Error
RAM2|Good|Good
It is a RAM, a bad RAM.

But if you have got a result like that:

test|Slot1|Slot2
RAM1| Error |Good
RAM2| Error |Good
It is a motherboard issue. The particular slot is bad.

So do the test and let us know the result accordingly. It will consume a lot of time, but worth doing it.

No need to upload anymore crash dump before the memory issue is fixed.
