Solved Random BSOD x124 caused by hal.dll

Thanks for your thought on the CPUs. My temps with the H60 are super low. At idle its 28c and during the few games I tried to start it'd barely hit 55c. My gpu idles at 51c. After my vanilla I stall I only have MSE (Microsoft security essentials) running. I have ccleaner installed and 2 temp monitor apps. I still haven't installed my ssd, need another sata cable. But I want to install it with a clean version of windows and then install everything one at a time. (apps and updates)

However, I'm reluctant to do all that if rePlacing the CPU is gonna fix it.
(commence ripping out the hair!)

so lasr night after 6 hrs without a bsod, i decided to try gaming. i played about 2 hrs no trouble then my keyboard just quit working. Batteries didnt help, so i stopped for the night.

i was excited i got to do anything for that long. i did monitor my cpu temps, the gpu hit 90% while gaming with temps right at 70c. the cpu ran at 50c.

then this morning wanted to try again, BSoD! (while searching google for keyboards) So heres the dump. i just want to rule out anything other than the cpu.

An afterthought here. MSI boards aren't the sharpest tool in the shed and if it has a malfunctioning socket or chipset, it could appear the CPU is bad.
Unfortunately the only way to test is swapping hardware.:(

So, we've essential ruled out by testing cpu, gfx, and the memory, multiple times now for 3 weeks. I'm left to say the mobo is bad and that will be my next purchase. Again I'm hoping for bang for buck and don't wanna spend more than $100, but I want room for improvement.

Any suggestions?

It would be a rare occurrence for RAM to overheat. Maybe in such of an instance if the motherboard voltage controllers were bad.
All the RAM fans are mostly for looks and bling.

Hey guys, so I'm still waiting for a friend to remove the motherboard he's gonna let me try and I'm holding out on purchasing another cpu til then, however I've been reading a lot about this VRM issue with MSI mobos. Someone posted this on another site.
I've read before here that the vdroop problems with your board are due to only having a 4pin cpu power instead of an 8pin one, at least that happened with 6-core PHIIs because the VRMs weren't capable of giving the cpu enough power.
Could you offer any insight to this? Could I have a faulty board with VRM issues? How can I test it?

You could have a faulty VRM, Voltage Regulator Module. That is the capacitors that are near or surround the CPU socket, some have a big heat sink on them.
Vdroop relates to Intel CPUs. I don't know of a way for a home user to test it though.

Sorry, this has taken me so long to respond. My friend flaked out on me and so I had to buy a motherboard, also was in the process of moving houses. I also decided to buy a new case too, since I was gonna be installing a new mobo anyways.

So, I picked up the black Thor V2 case. Large, lots of room to breathe and large fans. Not possible to have a cooling issue now.
Also bought the Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, (got 2x4gb of Patriot Gamer RAM included :D), new sata cables, and a 120GB SSD.

Got everything installed and within 30min of running a game, BSoD. Same one. x124 Uncorrectable hardware failure.

So back to the drawing board. I'm looking at the processor. Trying to decide on replacing my x6 t1100 with the x4 965 BE or a FX4170.

Any thoughts? It'll be for surfing and gaming.
