Hi guys,

Can you please help me with my BSOD's? I don't know what to do anymore.
I get this BSOD daily:

ntfs.sys
page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

It mostly crashing during multitasking / gaming. Then I reboot and I often get a new BSOD after several minutes of multitasking / gaming. But the system can also crash overnight when the pc is doing nothing.

I run:

Windows 7 32 bit
This is not the original OS on the system that is Vista but a few months after purchase I received an update CD for Windows 7.
Age of system 1- 1,5 years.
Age of OS: 1 year

I tried:

- Reinstalling Nvidea drivers and chipset drivers (because of missing coprocessor driver, fixed this but not the bsod problems)
- New antivirus I now run MSE with Defender switched off.
- Memtest pass
- Run a cpu stress test nothing happened. Temps normal max about 60 degrees.

Yes I did run a disk check.

I don't know if it shows a report when something is wrong? After few hours it was completed and windows started like normal.

I did:

To Scan and Automatically Attempt to Fix Errors and Recover Bad Sectors

on C: and D:

A few hours after this I had another BSOD.

Hey I have the exact same issue you have. Crashes on start up or shut down, but mostly during usage Games, Photo shop ETC. Thought it was memory issues but ive swapped my memory and tested each stick but memory seems ok.

I don't have crashes on start up or shut down.

When playing games, video, internet, multitasking. Even sometimes when my computer is doing nothing.

It's driving me crazy!

Looks as if your Western Digital external hard drive software may be the cause. It's also possible the drive itself is bad.

If the BSODs persist, enable driver verifier: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the Win7 auto installation program and installed the Realtek drivers.
It did pop up during installation saying: Realtek Controller was not found.

Is this ok and should I keep driver verifier on?
