Bios can be found here: Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Desktop / Aspire / Aspire M5201

Download the latest one: R01.C0 - 1.5 MB - 03/16/2010

Info can be found inside the Zip file after you have unzipped it.

Okay got the files, what should I do, Flash Bios SOP for DOS or Flash bios Sop for Windows? I assume the 2nd?

Thanks.

Also what do I choose here?
4. Choose BIOS bin file and click “Open”
5. Choose flashing setting as your need(ex:Boot Block,NVRAM,…),if you don’t flash Boot
Block,NVRAM…,please skip step 5,run step 6.(We do not recommend to select NVRAM
for normal BIOS flashing) and click “Flash”

Since your system is unstable I would recommend the DOS Route!!

Alright, this might sound really retarded but, how do I create a DOS-bootable DISK?

Thanks, thomas.

STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

  1. Did you run memtest? What were the results?
  2. Were you able to do the Hard drive test with Seatools?
  3. Did you uninstall MSE? (Please don't)
  4. What is the age of your computer/hardware?
  5. What is the age of your windows installation?

I need your msinfo file again:

To get this:

  • Click on the Start :orb:
  • Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
  • When it opens, go to File, Save
  • Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
  • Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
  • Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder
  • Upload the .zip file here.

Did you run memtest? What were the results? Yes I ran it, no errors as result.
Were you able to do the Hard drive test with Seatools? I have never used Seatools
Did you uninstall MSE? (Please don't) No after the installation of MSE I ran 3 full scans and didn't delete it
What is the age of your computer/hardware? I'm not very sure but it's about 3 years old I think.
What is the age of your windows installation? I don't know this, how do I check it

Thomas.
