Firstly, english isn't my primary language, so, in advance, sorry for any mispellings

I've started building this computer 2 days ago, and after initial installation of OS, drivers and basic software, I noted that whenever I'm stressing the network adapter (until now, specifically with torrents), the computer all of a sudden gets really slow, even the system audio playing kinda sluggish, or the computer BSODs

the computer specs are:
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H motherboard
core i7 2700k CPU
4x8GB corsair dominator 1600 RAM
MSI GeForce GTX 460 1GB GPU
550W Corsair PSU

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed in a X25-M SSD

the motherboard, cpu and memory are brand new, got them this friday, all the other hardware are in average a year old, and I used all of them with my old computer without any problems.

I'm not doing any overclocking (as far as I know, at least, I'm still a little confused with EFI bios), and tried memory both at 1600Mhz (through XMP profile) and 1333Mhz, with 4 and 2 RAM sticks, installed all the drivers from the motherboard DVD and downloading them from the internet, and with the LAN drivers (an atheros AR8151 on-board), tried some newer drivers from another motherboard (since in gigabyte's page newer version for my mobo are 2.0.4.4, tried 2.0.14.15)

I also experimented disabling windows firewall, enabling/disabling other features like intel Smart Connect Technology, Smart Response, on-board graphics and other non-essentials.

Until now, this only happened with torrents, small ones (200, 300mb) and big ones (5, 6 gb), some times it's a matter of 2 to 3 minutes, and once or twice it took more than an hour for the problem to emerge. Also, this happens if I keep using the computer or only with uTorrent running.

Before making this thread, I watched movies on this computer, browsed and downloaded files via http (right now I have 10 or so tabs opened in browsers), and all seems fine.

I'm suspecting I got a bad motherboard, but wanted to be sure of that.

Thanks in advance for the attention and the help

Related to L1C62x64.sys L1c PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller from Atheros Communications, Inc. I would re-install newest

thanks for the fast reply!

when I tested lan driver versions, I tried version 2.0.4.4 (which came with the dvd and also the newest for this board on gigabyte's page), it took almost an hour of torrent running for the problem to happen, then I installed version 2.0.14.15 (which I found in gigabyte's site, but for another board, that I made sure was the same LAN adapter), but just installed over the other, and since the problem ocurred 3 minutes after, I reverted it.

I'll try to completely remove the driver and the adapter from device manager and try again and post the results

one more thing, would it be any more helpful to run nt6_bsod_jcgriff2 with utorrent opened? maybe after the slowdown?

Again, thanks for the attention and replying so fast!

still not working...

uninstalled from device properties inside device manager, rebooted and asked for windows to search driver folder instead of running drivers own installer and after 5 minutes or so of 2 torrents downloading, computer got slow, lost network access, and the network adapter kept saying cable unplugged, then identifying network, then cable unplugged again and stayed in this loop until I rebooted

I took the chance and ran perfmon and the minidumps tool again, maybe there's something new, although since it didn't BSOD this time, the minidumps itselves are the same of the previous attachment

Most recent is still caused by the same.

thank you for the help.

I've just noticed that this specific file, L1C62x64.sys is from the older driver version, 2.0.4.4, the newer one uses the file L1C60x64.sys

I'll try to remove the older faulty version, and leave just the newer one, or reformat, if I must

again, thanks for the help!

using driver version 2.0.14.15 and deleting L1C62x64.sys from windows\system32\drivers (but not from DriverStore), the problem seems to be gone.

I've left torrents running for 3 hours now, and all is fine.
I'll mark the thread as solved

again, thank you zig zag for your fast help and your attention!
