So my computer randomly freezes up and when I boot up there are no log entries of the event. There are however always 3 log entries but I don't believe they are related to the actual problem. The 3 that are always there are: 6008, 7026 and 41.

Now when I say it freezes I mean it literally freezes up. I do not get any blue screen or black screen or any errors it literally freezes as if I took a screenshot of my desktop and was looking at it. I can not use my mouse or keyboard I can not hear anyone in a skype call or anything it is FROZEN. The only way I am able to reboot it is by holding the power button which thus gives me the error code 41 above.

Computer Specs:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
CPU:i5 2500k
GPU: GTX 560TI
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3
RAM: 12 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Series DDR3 1600

Please please someone tell me what they need to help me resolve this problem. It is very annoying to be in the middle of something and my computer freezes up. It has happened in the middle of work and I lose everything and in the middle of gaming and well that's never a good thing. Anything you need please just tell me I really need to get this fixed, as a side note it is the 4th fresh install of windows 7 so please dont just drop by and say install windows again because I have tried that.

I also know it is not a heating issue as I keep a monitor on my GPU/CPU temps and they are never high not to mention the computer freezes sometimes while just browsing the internet and has not frozen while im live streaming with many games open which would cause a lot more load than browsing the internet.

It could be a hard drive that is going bad or corrupted. A very common sign that a hard drive failure is imminent. To check a hard drive, click start orb and right click computer, select properties and then in the open window select tools tab. Then click the check now tab in the Error-checking box.

I assume you meant left click computer and right click on the C drive and then go to tools etc, I did this already once and it found nothing. Any other ideas? I haven't really been able to put my finger on what causes it because like I said before it has happened during everything from browsing the internet to playing games. I do however feel that it happens more often while im using a lot of bandwidth specifically streaming games or downloading movies. I don't want to lead anyone in the wrong direction but I do think it happens more often during those things however it could completely be a coincidence.

Same problem I think Ive made it better

Ive been having the same problems help me so i can help u.

1. Do u have a Western digital Caviar Green hard drive either 1.5tb or 2tb (WD15EADS) (install intel matrix storage manager make sure the hard drive is set to ahci on the bios) if so how fast does it read and write

2. have you checked your memory frequencies on your motherboards bios make sure theyre correct (sometimes the motherboard doesn't load the right clock settings at spdif you dont know what im talking about plz ask)

3. Stupid question but are you overclocking (has to be asked) if you don't know load default bios settings

4. The games youre playing have they been downloaded if so Ive heard rumours some torrent games freeze up your computer a lot, rumours probably Bull***t

5. Did you start experiencing this problem when updating your bios:huh:

6. Do you have Windows 7 64bit build 7600 sp1 with all updates or RC

7. Some say the PSU is failing does it make a weird humming noise when the computer is switched off

My brothers had this problem for ages so he called me I remember at first it would freeze for about 4 minutes randomly 4 - 6 times in an hour especially while browsing. Ive been on this for a whole week and ive never seen anything like it. Ive been on different posts everywhere Ive checked this system with windows 7 32/64bit vista 32bit xp 32bit (with Xp it was less). I noticed everytime I used the browser (IE9/Firefox) it would start to freeze up and come back the hard drive light stays on and the graphics and cpu fan speed lowers dramatically. I also formatted the whole hard drive and made sure I installed windows on the first partition on the list. Ive tried everything but its still freezing a little,:cry: im losing sleep im suicidal please help. thanx for reading.

CPU I7 860
Motherboard: EVGA P55 FTW

My problem is not like anyone's listed here. I thought maybe it was bad RAM but I ran them and nothing showed up. For whatever reason I can't remember exactly why but I removed the stick from the first slot on my MOBO and tried using my computer and to my surprise it worked and has not froze since then. I then was lead to believe that stick I removed was bad but I had just purchased these 2 sticks and I didn't want to send them back and wait for new ones. I decided to try using my two 4 GB sticks (including the one I thought was bad) and one of my 2 GB sticks. But when I replaced them I made sure to leave the first slot empty again.

To my surprise my computer has not had any issues or random freezing since I made this change. So from what I can tell my computer only freezes when I have a RAM stick in the first slot of my RAM slots. However if I leave it empty my computer runs fine. What could be causing this? I am running 2 sticks of 4 GB each and 2 stick of 2 GB each and im running them in dual channel mode where I have the two 4 GB sticks in the blue slots and the two 2 GB sticks in the white slots.

So for what reason is running my memory like this making my computer crash? Is the first RAM slot just bad and causing crashes or is running the memory in dual channel causing issues.
