Solved random freezes and BSOD stop: 0x0000001E

Hi, my pc recently started to freeze at random, doesn't matter what i'm doing, if playing or watching films or even nothing: the image on the monitor is blocked, mouse and keyboard loose alimentation while the rest of the pc (fans ad cd drives) keep working and the hdd led is off. (all tempereture are low i don't think it's overheating)
Occasionally it also crash with the BSOD error STOP: 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80002A891CF, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

I tried to change tha ram with 3 new corsair 2Gb 1600mhz but it froze anway.
Also i've formatted and reinstalled win 7 on main HD, updated the bios, downloaded all the drivers for the mainboard from the asus site, and the drivers for the video card, but didn't helped.

Another problem (but i don't know if it's related) is that the pc found a RAID controller and it asks the driver for it, but i don't have a RAID controller and i didn't set the hard disk in raid mode in bios, also when i download asus drivers for raid controllers i receive this message: system does not have requirement for the installation,
right at 100% of installation.

Hope i've been clear enough and thank for your help and tell me if i have to give you any other information.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

• Double click to open it.
• Click this button only:
• 
• If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

The Sonix USB camera driver is very old.

Update it from Sonix Technology Co., Ltd.

And, Disable USB Selective Suspensd too.
USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off

For the USB devices, first, detach all the USB devices other than the keyboard and mouse.
Then, Update the drivers for them all, including the keyboard and mouse, if any third party drivers are installed for them.

thanks for your anwser and your speed,
i did everything you told me, exept that i don't have a Sonix USB camera, and i think i never had it, but i have a trust webcam and i reinstalled the driver for it from the trust site.
Yet yesterday after i did all and i was replying here the pc froze again. And the device manager still ask for RAID controller drivers.
is there any other thing i can do?

Disable RAID controller in BIOS.
How to Disable RAID: 5 Steps - wikiHow

The cam might be of different model, but that uses the Sonix driver. If it is updated, that is no problem. But dont let it start alongwith windows.

If it BSODs again, post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

in bios the storage configuration was already IDE, other options are RAID and AHCI, any advice on how to remove it defietly for the device manager? if i uninstall it, the pc will find it in the next time is turned on.

Except that propblem with the controller yesterday my pc worked all night without crashing or freeze, i hope the BSOD problem is solved.

Is it still asking for RAID controllers, despite of storage controllers are set to IDE? If it does next time, take a screen capture and upload it.

Before declaring the issue as solved, you should give it a bit more time.

If there is no more BSODs in between, let us know the situation after a week.

today i got another blue screen, after a few day of well going, the error code is STOP 0x0000003B (0x00000000C0000005, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF88002986B70, 0x0000000000000000).
I also attached a screenshot of my device manager, here you can see a RAID controller without drivers(it's set on "unactive").

The latest BSOD is a stop 0x3B. Very common in nature, and very sticky in type. In most of the cases it occurs due to the display drivers, as in your case too .... if those are updated directly and some restarts got skipped etc.

To resolve this issue, you may uninstall and reinstall the display driver as follows.

• Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
  • 3D Vision Control Driver
  • 3D Vision Driver
  • Graphics Driver
  • HD Audio Driver
  • PhysX
  • nvidia Update
  (Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
• Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
• Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Download the latest WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:
  
  

But taking the overall situation into consideration, I would suggest you to go for a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html. Read the instructions there carefully and go for it.

If you opt for the clean reinstall, install the latest display driver directly at the first time.

I reinstalled the nvidia drivers as you told me, yesterday worked all night and this morning the pc froze 2-3 times and i got a new BSOD: STOP: 0X0000000A (0XFFFFEF7B80B51001, 0X000000000000000A, 0X0000000000000001, 0XFFFFF80002AC9381)
is it possible that the problem is in the hardware and not something about software?

also i already formatted and reinstalled windows a few time and it didn't work, the pc sometime freeze even when the hard disk is empty and i'm installing windows on the fromatted disk.

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

i found a broken slot of ram, it didn't found a specific error but when i try to test it with a good stik of ram the pf freeze every time so now i'm not using that slot and i'll see if this will resolve the problem.
