Random Freezes, even when Idle. No BSOD and nothing in error loga.

My self built pc will randomly freeze, sometimes when on the internet and others when I leave it idle. I can still move the mouse and click but once I try to open something the blue wheel will start and then the only thing I can do is a hard reset. From time to time it will freeze after having restarted it a few minutes prior. I have checked the logs and dumps and they come back with no problems, checked my memory and my drivers and all are okay.
I have no idea what may be causing this.

have you checked your processor and ram usage during the time that it happens via task manager? If you can; try and grab a screenshot of when this is happening using ctrl + print screen; then open paint, past it into paint, save it, then upload it here so we can see what may be hogging ram and or processor resources which is what sounds like is happening.

Well when the freeze is happening I can't open up task manager at all. But I'll try just letting it run in the background and if a freeze happens see if it shows what's happening still then and get back to you.


Update: Freeze just happened, couldn't print screen but I did have Task Manager for both the CPU and Memory up in the background and nothing was hogging the resources, at least according to it. They kept running and showed 3% of CPU being used and only 26% of RAM.

What about the event viewer? Can you see if you can post the logs here from event viewer showing around the time
It happens? That would help shed some light on this.

do you often get prompted to do start up or disk repairs?

it could be a hard drive issue, then again eventviewer would say something along the lines of failure to write to disk.
but its worth testing if you have a spare hdd to instal windows on

Nope haven't had one prompt for either of those. And I would hope it's not a hard drive issue cause the hdd, along with everything else in the pc is less than a year old. But I've also ran the SMART scan on the hdd and it came up clean and checked the SATA cable and the others and they seem alright too.

Oh and last night I tried leaving it running all night in safe mode and even running some programs and did not get a single freeze, so it must be some software or driver that I have installed, but I still can't for the life of me figure out what.

Also while it doesn't show it as an error, it is jut listed under information in the event log this event does show up pretty much, if not every time the computer freezes, Maybe they could be connected somehow?
