Randomly occuring BSODs, probably caused by drivers

This custom built computer has a history of random bsods. The four most recent took place in a period of over a year. There was only one obvious pattern to the crashes: The sound card was in use.

The computer is normally left in hibernation and has never crashed when I wasn't using it.

Whocrashed claims this is likely a driver issue and not a hardware issue. Ram memory has been checked extensively twice. I had memcheck run two 10-hour sessions. No errors detected.

1: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (i was listening to spotify)
2: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (i was listening to spotify)
3: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (i was watching youtube)
4: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (i was watching youtube) (this was the most recent crash)

After crashes 1 and 2 I decided to remove my external soundcard. Now I'm using only the on board soundcard on my motherboard.

There are crashes further back in history. The earliest crashes were caused by a faulty power supply which messed up ram performance. It was fixed.

Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r.
Install the latest updates from Windows Update.

Do the exact same steps for chkdsk /r but instead of typing in sfc /scannow type chkdsk /r.

Ok!

Turns out I experienced no more bsods until yesterday hence my absence from here :P

I ran both sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r once each. I have updated latest updates (except a very recent one which breaks my windows installation)

SFC found no errors. Not sure about CHKDSK because it seems to have restarted windows automatically after I ran it and I wasn't home when it was running so unless it saves logs somewhere I'll never know.

I will commence running seatools in a few hours.

What power supply are you running and are you overclocking anything?
You really need to get Anti-Virus and run it always.

There should be no overclocking currently.

I used to overclock this machine until an unfortunate incident (some idiots messing about with equipment in the kitchen that made a breaker flip TWICE) happened back at my old dorm which broke my PSU. After that I had to replace it. I also stopped overclocking entirely. (i used to overclock ram a bit)

Not sure how to look up the PSU without opening the case. I'll see if I can find the original box somewhere. (my case is somewhat complicated to open)

Note that I'm a complete amateur when it comes to overclocking and when I did overclock I had instructions from a friend on how to set it up. If I am to check anything overclocking related in bios I will need instructions :)

Edit: I recently got another BSOD as mentioned in my earlier post: BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER. I can update my dumps if necessary.

It would really help to know that your power supply is sufficient to run your devices. If power is not distributed to all devices adequately you might never resolve random blue screens and crashes. You need to understand that the computer is relying on that power to be enough and consistent. I added 1 HDD to a computer that was already pushing the limit and the machine would crash after 1/2 an hour use, every time I used it.
GET ANTI-VIRUS, ANTI-MALWARE and some sort of firewall or you are just asking for problems. This is not a joke. You are on YouTube and Spotify just begging the internet trolls to sock it to you.

The PSU is large enough. It should be 600w. I don't know the brand right now but it is a quality brand. I can't find the box and I cannot at the moment open the case.

A friend of me who is really into building custom computers assisted me with this machine.

Edit: It's an xfx 500w.

The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
Make sure you tick the Uninstall C:/AMD and C:/NIVIDA folders while you are in DDU when you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! This is the guide for DDU: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/367109-display-driver-uninstaller-how-use.html

Remember to remove Catalyst and only install the graphics driver.

This is perhaps a stupid question, but how do i then reinstall the drivers without installing Catalyst?

I did uninstall the drivers, but before I did I got another bluescreen: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

Drivers uninstalled now and new drivers installed. No catalyst.

I accidentally forgot to select the two directories from the options menu in the DDU, though. Is that a big problem? From reading about it it seems those directories only contain installation files and not drivers, but I might be wrong.

I'll wait and see if I get another one.

Windows claims the drivers are up to date for USB Root Hub, USB Composite Device and Generic USB Hub. Those were the only relevant-looking things I could find in the device manager.

I did some looking around on the web and it seems that windows might occasionally incorrectly reply that a driver is up to date despite not being so. Do you reccomend a dedicated driver updater?
