If you are on the "Insiders Know" the current build is NOT 7105 (although that's genuine) but now 7110. We're almost at Escrow and RC1.

So C'mon guys give this stuff a break now as you'll all get RC VERY SHORTLY NOW.

Unless you've still got build 7000 and want a longer expiry date than the Aug one from build 7000 the leaked builds out there are more than sufficient with probably 7048 getting the most positive vote (X-64). Can't say too much over the x-86 systems as I haven't rigorously tested these.

I'm sure over the Easter break if these latest builds are leaked there'll be a "feeding frenzy" on the torrents -- but seriously I'd wait now at this late stage of the game -- why attempt possibly to fix something that might either be fixed in RC or won't even exist.

Downloading leaked builds was fine when there wasn't a realistic milestone for the RC but now we know it will be mid May at the latest why rush out and download a build you know you'll wipe as soon as the RC appears.

Cheers
jimbo

you are saying like mid may is a week from now. And yes i personly will wipe as soon as RC apears, HOWEVER ill also remove RC as soon there will be newer internal build after RC. Who cares about milestones, we just need latest builds :)

Hi all
You'll surely have at least one build over the Easter Hols -- I'll be hopefully at least 2,000 KM from ANY COMPUTER, MOBILE PHONE and defintely a BLACKBERRY (21st century mark of an "indentured Slave") during this period doing absolutely NOTHING apart from some serious drinking, frolicking and ..... (left that as an exercise for the Reader).

BTW as I've said if you are still looking for builds 7105 (genuine) was surpassed very very quickly by 7110 so I don't know what the issues were with build 7105 so I'd skip that one if you must have your fix).

Cheers

Normal Microsoft sourced builds won't come in .RAR files in the first place.
The "normal" way of installing an OS is via an .ISO file.

Mind you for some it's OK as a set of .RAR files as you can discover it's fake before you've wasted time on downloading 2.5 - 4GB.

Just hold your horses a little bit -- once there are some "official" or "decent" leaks out there news will quickly spread.

Incidentally I wouldn't waste my time by downloading a Windows build as a set of .RAR files either -- if you are using a torrent with a decent download speed just let it run and do something else whilst its downloading. If people have to "sneak out" the build in small pieces you are more likely to get a corrupt build than by using a proper compiled ISO.

On the small nova you can report fake torrents and they get removed pretty quickly. I'm not sure what the policy is on "The Nautical site".

Cheers
jimbo

That has other good info in it too, like how to bypass the version check for upgrade from pre-RC for those that need to or really want to. Normal RC upgrade install will not allow.

Actually all my builds have arrived as .rar files. Its the standard way of posting on Usenet. They then of course unrar to a .iso.

I have downloaded every build i have used since 65xx as a set of rar files, not everybody has an amazing net speed and uploading and downloading this way is much better on a slow connection.. They are only split rar archives with the iso inside...

Torrents suck IMO, much preffer direct/ftp links.

Takes me about 15mins to get a full ISO from Giganews and if you get them in order you can more or less see whats in the finished file before wasting all that time LOL.
