Really irritating feature when browsing

Hi there

Is it just IE11 or are more and more websites doing this -- at the left hand edge there's some tags e.g Facebook / twitter etc that overlay a bit of the left hand text. This seems fixed and can't be moved to unhide the text. A lot of websites are doing this now and it's really annoying. Does this type of behaviour only exist on IE or is it web site related. (I'm Using IE11).

Firefox yes, Chrome no.

WTF. I get it on Chrome now too. Malwarebytes did block something the first time. Maybe that was it.

Adjust your page zoom should prevent the icons from blocking the text,
ie10 as well,
This html validation came up,

Interestingly using Doc mode on Quirks the left side icons say towards the top of the page when I scoll down so they don't block the text.
The only way the Hide button showed up is if I hovered over one of the icons,

Yes more sites are doing this because it's free advertising if a visitor uses these share options,
Sad but for the most part true,
The ultimate conflict is your page zoom level as others have shown most likely using 100% instead of 150%

Thanks for replies.

I was trying also with Firefox on DEBIAN -same problem - can't get rid of it - so I don't think it's specific malware. Using a large external monitor seems OK though by fiddling the screen size -- probably some of these wretched coders are trying to code for a FIXED screen size or fixed number of oixrls based on some low pre-historic standard such as VGA !.

Anyway - I try and avoid those sites in future.
