Work from home as a transcriptionist. Purchased used computer with RealTek Audio on it. Work software uses the Windows Media Player. Sound is now scratchy, has a lot of static. Can I delete the RealTek software?

Uninstall, not delete. Yes you can remove it, but Windows Media Player does not play Real Audio files, it supports pretty much all other audio formats. Real Audio has file extension .ra or .rm and it is not very common or popular these days.
